Is anyone using hostednumber.com for number portability? It looks like I can port my existing landline number to them for $15 one time and then pay $7.95 per month for them to forward to any phone. I was thinking I could use this service and forward it google voice which forwards to my magicjack and family cell phones. I'm getting tired of waiting for either GV or MJ to offer porting.
So, is anyone using hostednumber and does it work OK for you?
Using Hostednumbers.com for Local Number Portability (LPN)??

It's $7.95 per month which is a lot less than I'm paying qwest for landline service.
And it's not phone service, it's a forwarding service that will allow me to port my number which I've had for 20 years. I will forward it to MJ or GV
I have a MJ powering all the phone jacks in my house and it's been working great for about 45 days. I've been hoping MJ or GV would have porting by now. I'm tired of waiting so this service seemed like a reasonable option for porting my number.
Where can I get phone service WITH porting for less than $7.95 per month?

Here: http://www.inphonex.com/services/voip-liteline.phpIt is IP phone service, so you need an ATA if you want phone service. But they will port your number and forward it starting at $5.95/month.dleeret wrote:Where can I get phone service WITH porting for less than $7.95 per month?
Thanks for the info but they also charge 0.25 cents per minute for forwarded calls. I'm going to forward my ported number to Google Voice and let GV route it for me. Although Inphonex has the ability to ring multiple phones at the same time, it uses call forwarding for this. And it's only $5.95 with a 12 month contract. Month to month is $7.95 per month. I'm not sure I want a 12 month contract and a pay per call plan. Plus at $0.025 per minute, I will spend more than $7.95 after 80 minutes.davrow wrote:Here: http://www.inphonex.com/services/voip-liteline.phpIt is IP phone service, so you need an ATA if you want phone service. Again, I appreciate the information. $7.95 per month for hosted numbers is a lot less than I'm paying for qwest (around $35 per month). And with my MJ being "only $1.70 per month" my phone service is now less than $10 per month including long distance.
