What kind of USB Phone to Buy

Post by riverdaze »

Hi...I have an MJ for home on my desktop computer at home which works just fine with my older Panasonic two-line cordless phone system. I frequently travel for business and would like to buy a usb phone that I could carry in my case and use while waiting in airports, between meetings etc. I guess my intent is to reduce my cellular minutes. I would be using this with my Verizon Air card. All the phones I see advertized say they are for Skype. Will they work with MJ too? Any help is appreciated as I have a trip coming up soon

Which is a good phone to buy for travel?

You should just get a bluetooth... They are cheaper and the quality is better (then those cheap mini phones)
Bluetooth- $15 max
Dongle for computer $10
Talking on the magicjack via bluetooth- Priceless?
Not a good one :D ^?

O....OK. I din know that. We should not get stuck on cute. Is the message. But my take from ebay is this cute but sleazoid phone just has regular modular jack which could plug into the MJ. Thanks again for the info!

I got a totally insane regular big phone just to use with my MJ on my desktops. It has functions I do not need like for the hearing impaired, and HUGE BUTTONS., made really well. I got it for like $11 witg shipping; tis vendor has tons of them. for Real. I will get a link.

Leetle 2 big to carry in lappy bag tho. I only use with my desktops.

You dont need to buy usb phone just carry with you MJ and a small dialer with ear plug, thats it all you need.
Try this CURTIS MODEL NO: TH1700B.THIS GREAT .I always make calls with it.

Has anyone used one of them bluetooth ear things with there laptop using MJ? My brother gave me one, but told him I would never use it and turned it down, now I want it cause my laptop has bluetooth.

When I first got my MJ the only real phone I had was a cheap little dialer phone from radio shack. It worked but I found using a logitech USB headset with the computer dial pad was so much better for voice clarity. This was before I had my own Internet access and was getting it form someone near by with low signal. Anyways my point is, I think using a nice USB headset and the built in dial pad on the MJ will give you better results, expesialy when your using public Internet access points.

Below is a page from amazon with a few dozen different USB headsets, some are fold-able for east storage in a laptop case.
