Hi guys,
I have this problem with magicjack..everytime I plug it and then I use my yahoo messenger, my yahoo messenger crashes and also I get "VIA Audio CPL stopped working" (which is my HD audio controller). But when there is no magicjack attached to my computer my yahoo messenger and VIA Audio HD seems to work just fine.
by the way I tried reinstalling all the softwares, including different types of yahoo messenger versions and nothing seems to work.
I think magicjack could be causing this problem
Any input would be appreciated, TIA!
motherboard ASUS P5KPL-AM EPU
Windows 7 32bit
edit: maybe it has something to do with the sound card because I understand magicjack tweaks the onboard sound?

Re: Yahoo Messenger crashes when magicjack is plugged
It's not much input, but I use YM on a regular basis and have had no issues with it ever crashing, even when I am on a MJ call. This includes having my cam and mic open chatting with my kids via YM.vinzan2211 wrote:

I have Win 7 64 bit, but I 'm sure that has nothing to do with it. It's possible the sound card could be your problem since MJ does all kinds of crap to the sound/volume settings. You should try your MJ on another computer or a friends/relatives to see if the issue gets replicated.

Crap, I know very little about this stuff. I just have whatever piece of crap one that is part my motherboard on my Acer. I assume you made sure the drivers are updated etc. ?
If you are otherwise not having sound issues it may be something else and I would try to check my MJ on another computer to double check if it was okay before I invested money in a new sound card.
Also, if you haven't already, I would not use the usb cable that came with the MJ, and make sure it was plugged into a rear usb port. It may be possible that something with the new motherboard is changing the usb port performance.
This stuff is way out of my knowledge base, hopefully someone else has more useful info for you.
