No Caller ID for Mac users?

Post by pitchie »

The softphone for the Mac looks quite different from the PC version, and I seem to have baffled three tech chat reps who must have thought I was nuts. But there is no phonebook field, thus no way to make entries. OS 10.4.11, Intel, and yes I installed the latest everything.

Could you post the screenshot of the MAC's MJ softphone for those of us who do not have MAC to see what it looks like? Thanks.

BTW, you may want to mask your phone number & address from the uploaded pic  ... do it quick

But it's unfortunate...

I mean, not having Caller ID could be a deal breaker for me. Has anyone else heard that using a self-powered USB hub could actually provide MORE power to a USB device (like the MagicJack) than connecting it straight into the computer? Caller ID is not coming up on my regular phone either, which they admit is a possibility with some models. I think I'm ready for a hub anyway... should be an interesting trial month.

Have you tried the 100K resistor fix for the no caller-ID issue? This caller-ID fix provided by snafu2 works wonder!!
