Incoming calls blocked???

I just started using the MJ and have discovered that the mechanics shop that has been working on my truck is not able to call me from the shop phone. They even tried to call my home with me standing there to show me that they can not call me while I am using the MJ.

Does anyone know why this might be happening when the mechanic tries to call me at home?

I doubt very highly that their number is just blocked. Some people have reported various services not working with the MagicJack. Personally, I have had no issues with this.

Is your number long distance for said shop? A lot of business' cut costs with things like phone service. Maybe they do not have long distance. Why would a grease monkey shop need anything but local calling in most cases?

hmm, ya, this is not uncommon- at least for me. I've found a handful of people i know are not able to call me. the strange thing is that the majority of them are all businesses... even in your case.
I don't think that anyone is actually being BLOCKED though. I'm thinking its just some sort of routing type issue.
either way, I've not found any solution...

Its probably a routing issue - I hate to say this but you should really get into a chat session with the MJ tech support weenies and complain. Have your mechanic's phone number and complain that calls from that number don't work. They will probably give you some #$@# that they will report this to engineering and it will be fixed in XX hours (12, 24, etc.) but it won't be. But they *might* actually report it and someday in the distant future it might be fixed!

I've had issues where certain people can't call me due to routing issues. I filed a complaint with the FCC thanks to this thread link:
