MJ stuck on "Placing a Call"

I'm having a problem with my Magic Jack. When I dial a number, it just says "Placing a call" and it tracks the seconds, however it never connects to the number. it gets to 18 seconds then hangs up automattically. its not the internet thats causing this beacause a few months earlier it was working jsut fine with this same internet connection. and our plan was for 5 years. we bought the plan on 2010 so its not that,

Any idead on what can be causing this?
