Why can't this be activated?

My daughter never used the MJ she received 4 years ago. It was still sealed in the plastic packaging when she handed it to a friend to use. The guy couldn't get it to work.

He was told by MJ Live Chat on Saturday that the activation code was out of date. He responded that there is nothing on the package that says this has to be activated within a year. Live Chat said MJ just enacted the "year policy" the day before, on that Friday.

Live Chat would not provide a refund, an updated activation code or a voucher for a new replacement.

Anyone ever hear of this and is there a way to use a brand new model from a few years back.

this is new to me wow that not good .Can u just buy a new year for it wont they let u do that ?

I don't believe MJ Chat gave the kid that option. Now what do I do with this unit that's never been used? I'm surprised no readers have heard of this problem.
