need magicjack to ring through pc speakers not my phone

Post by Trandel »

Heya all. Heres my issue. Dropped my phone today and now it wont ring. Everything else still works great just not the ringer. How the heck do I change the ringer setting on the magicjack to use my pc speakers. Its not letting me change anything at all it just all says magicjack for the speaker, microphone and ringer settings.

Any help on this would be fantastic. Thanks!

When you click on the menu on the soft-phone, the first item should say "switch to headset". Clicking on that will allow you to change the settings. You should also be able to go into the "volume/headset control" section and switch between "telephone" and "headset/other".

I dont have anything like that at all. The first item listed when I click menu is help followed by volume/headset control, download outlook add on, etc.

As for switching in the volume/headset control menu like I said, it doesnt let me change anything at all.

Interesting. Not sure what to suggest now. I have the option in the 2 places, the first line on the menu and within the volume/headset control menu option, at the top of it, to switch back and forth.

I did at one time have an active MagicTalk account, when it was free for a few months, so it's possible a different version of the soft-phone was installed because of that.
