I know it's an on-going problem with magicJunk, but I have been unable to receive calls for the past three days, or check my VM either. I'm not going to even bother contacting their tech support, because I'm really not in the mood to screw around in their tech chat for 20-30 minutes, to be instructed to unplug the thing, etc, and then later be told about some bullshit upgrades.
I was ecstatic when this thing arrived, and for the first couple of days I was pretty happy. At this point, if I was still within the trial period, I would certainly attempt to return it.
Just frustrated and wanted to vent (again) as well as make sure I am not the only one experiencing this - which my money says I am not.
Has anybody else been having the same issues on the west coast (USA)? Can only use MJ to make outgoing calls?
For all of the satisfied users, good for you. Seriously, it's a great thing if (when) it works. For me, it's just not worth the frustration.

For a while today, I attempted to make an outgoing call, heard a lot of pulsing noise on the line, the call went through to my real phone, but when the answering maching picked up, the call was dropped. Then I tried to call my cellphone, which rang a couple of times and the call was dropped.
Now it is working fine, didn't do anything on this end. And the pulsing noise is gone.
The other day, my voicemail was not working.
Most of the time, outgoing calls work. Can't depend on MJ for incoming calls, so no one else has my number.

All I can say is that when hooked up to my laptop running XP SP3 Beta with IE8 beta, MJ works fine. If I hook it back into my desktop with Vista SP1/IE7, then I get the ""Unable to access your magicJack. Please reinsert the magicJack and contact tech support if the problem continues." message when running MagicFix. No outbound/inbound calls.b1rd wrote: Just frustrated and wanted to vent (again) as well as make sure I am not the only one experiencing this - which my money says I am not.

Six chats to tech support, no solution. Supposedly, my case was 'elevated'. We'll see.
As long as MJ is hooked up to my laptop, I'm satisfied. I was hoping to sell my laptop but that's on hold for now.

for your magicjack to work with vista sp1 , you need to have a clean installation or a vista installation without a sp1 installed, once you install magicjack on a non sp vista, then you be able to upgrade to sp1 and your magicjack will work .Chaz wrote:All I can say is that when hooked up to my laptop running XP SP3 Beta with IE8 beta, MJ works fine. Thanks.
I was actually able to retrieve them today. I have not even tried since I vented.
I, too, do not rely on MJ for the voice messages, however I use it for make out going calls for my business. Even though my website does not have the number on it, I am assuming it's being saved, then used when my customers try to call me back.
i changed the greeting, with instructions to call another number. Just seem a bit cheesy to do it that way, but since my business forces me to talk across the US, it is a money saver.
