Cannot register my new Magicjack Plus
Hi:
I'm new here--
Don't type too well-- bear with me, please--
Have used a basic MJ for about 2 years---works well--decided to try a Plus--bought it from MJ 800 number--got it 2 days later on Sept. 10th.-2011
I use 2 Email addresses msn.com also bellsouth.net--bought plus under com(also had basic Mj listed under .com) in trying to register the Plus, I thought a seperate account would be wise, listed .net -(suspect a big mistake) I have not been able to register the plus for 33 days---chatted with 15 plus people, spent 15 /20 hoursto no avail--their chat system is an abomination---!!!!!!
I would appreciate any help you might give me--!!!!
Regards,
Bob B.

Upgrading to MJ+
So if I understand this, I use magicjack now and if I want to get the magicjack plus, if I register it on my existing account I can carry my phone number over to the magicjack plus? (The number I was given when I registered my magicjack) I just saw an ad for the plus and I like the idea I can use it without a computer since I am using an old machine 24/7 to run magicjack as my house line. Would it also extend my usage for another year since I would have to buy the new gadget? This would save on electricity by not having to keep a boat anchor on 24/7 (old computer)

Re: Upgrading to MJ+
Yes and you can use BOTH MJ's ( with the same number) till one or the other expires ( doesnt have to be at the same time) So if you have 5 years on your Orig MJ and get a plus, you can use both... 5 years for the orig MJ and 1 year for the plus. At the end of either you can decide which one to renew or not..mikeexplorer wrote:So if I understand this, I use magicjack now and if I want to get the magicjack plus, if I register it on my existing account I can carry my phone number over to the magicjack plus? Re: Upgrading to MJ+
To add to this. I haven't done it, but if I did, I would AVOID using the words port or transfer in any customer service chat when I set it up. Just tell them you want to add the Plus to your existing MJ account to keep the same number on both devices.bitstopjoe wrote: Yes and you can use BOTH MJ's ( with the same number) till one or the other expires ( doesnt have to be at the same time) So if you have 5 years on your Orig MJ and get a plus, you can use both... 5 years for the orig MJ and 1 year for the plus. The MJ help is useless
I too have spent in excess of 15 hours on the 'chat' line. They are reading from a script and refuse to move down the script to where your problems are. I have ported my number over (Big Mistake) and now the MJ+ does not work either, I keep getting an error (401). I now can not get MJ on my browser - Have they locked me out? So I now have two devices neither of which works at all. Has any one thought of a class action suit against these guys for false advertising??

The first one. Yes. The second one. No. Unless taken out of context like you did. His intelligence, or honesty, is open to question IMO - TROLL!. After all his anti-MJ and anti-Dan postings he claimed to have put MORE money in Dans pocket and bought a Plus, couldn't get incoming or outgoing calls on it and sent it back. So he was either too stupid to get it to work, which I doubt if NetTalk works for him, or a total liar, IMO. Your pick.VaHam wrote:He is a smart man - TROLL!
But I do concede your point of him not being a troll. His postings have gone from trolling to spamming.
But it is such great fun watching you blow up when anyone mentions alternatives to your precious MJnailgunner wrote:His intelligence, or honesty, is open to question IMO - TROLL!. I wouldn't know much about comic books, haven't read one since I was about 10. But to the contrary, you need to review my postings a bit better "comic book man".VaHam wrote:But it is such great fun watching you blow up when anyone mentions alternatives to your precious MJEspecially after seeing you blast MJ yourself and mention looking into alternatives. It is better than a comic book!
I couldn't care less if someone posts alternatives to MJ. As I have pointed out REPEATEDLY, the great thing about this forum is that it won't delete such posts, as other forums have been reported to do, and it also offers a whole section for such postings. I will comment when someone offers an opinion that I have a contrary opinion on. I have repeatedly posted that I have no opinion on other systems and my allegiance to MJ will last as long as it keeps working for me. Blow up? The extended postings usually occur when arrogant posters do not like their opinions being challenged, and then engage in protracted discussions with me why my opinion doesn't count and telling me I couldn't be getting good service on my MJ.
My only issue with Pablo123 is that he does it repeatedly as a response to technical requests on how to fix something that is wrong with their magicJack. Nothing constructive on what was asked. Just go spend more money after they already made an equipment investment. He certainly has a right to troll/spam post whatever he wants, wherever he wants. But once he does that there is nothing wrong with someone trying to occasionally get him to STFU, or move it to the right section of the forum, in my opinion.
But if you find my so-called "blow up" postings comical, there are some equally if not better ones in here if you are so inclined to do a search. This guy, I forget his name, proclaims that only his opinion counts because he is smarter and has apparently written papers for NASA. What a laugh riot.

You were the one that called it a refund moron. And who was a crying little bitch about not receiving it yet? Like you actually bought one and put money in Dan's pocket for even a week. Here's your statement:
It didn't work at all for me, I wasn't able to make or receive phone calls. Tech support was not helpful and couldnt resolve my issue, so I sent the crap back. I'm still waiting for my refund!

Right, I'm the too slow dumb ass. I use your "refund" word, and you tell me it's the wrong word, it's a "charge-back". I post your quote, you call it a "cool story", so I show the actual link to your "story". And yet all you can say is I need to get a life. Doesn't sound like your life is in any better shape.Pablo123 wrote:your too slow to get, I don't feel like explaining it to a dumb ass.

"The equipment arrived within days, but immediately Arquilla could tell there was a problem.
Although the flier said she did not need a computer, it neglected to spell out what she does need: Internet access.

I'm sorry but anyone who does not know they need internet access to use Voice Over INTERNET Protocol is probably to stupid to even use a PC let alone a MJ. They are the type of user who would call Tech Support to say their PC is not working during a power outage. Don't laugh, I took a call like that once...Pablo123 wrote:Re: MagicJack Plus Is Misleading
