I have an MJ (4 years) running on a thin client and works perfectly calling/receiving calls to landlines .... in all aspects - perfect.
A friend also has an MJ (1 year) running on a thin client and works perfectly with landlines ... just like mine does.
Here's the rub. When either of us calls each other with our MJ the call stutters/garbles ... "uh H--, wh-- d-- you sa-?" You get the idea.
If I call my friend from my cell phone to their MJ -- perfect.
Likewise if my friend calls my MJ from their cell phone -- perfect.
I don't get it? MJ to MJ freaks out. MagicJack support wants to blame everything .. ignoring that both MJ's work fine --- unless they call each other.
And so, I'm here begging for insight into what the fudge can be the issue?
Help, please?
MJ to MJ=garbled/stuttering .. either MJ to landline=perfect

ThePOO,
You may try these fixes:
---<>---
Your computer might not be giving enough system resources to your magicJack program which can cause a variety of audio quality issues. I'll provide you with the steps that will give more computing power allocation to the magicJack software.
1. Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete keys on your keyboard at the same time.
2. Click on the "Processes" tab, look for the line that says "magicJack" .
3. Right-click on it then select "Set Priority" then choose "High" from the popup list.
4. Try to place a call.
OR
Check if you're connected to a router. If you're connected to one, make sure that MJ ports (5060 and 5070 both UDP are open from your router's interface)

Mine does the same thing. The only thing that fixed it was I switched my magicjack to the aircard setting. For some reason when I call magicjack to magicjack it works. If I switch in back to normal....mj to mj is all broken again. Hope this helpsThePOO wrote:I have an MJ (4 years) running on a thin client and works perfectly calling/receiving calls to landlines .... in all aspects - perfect.

I'm always looking to tinker with my settings, even though I have no real complaints about call quality.ThePOO wrote:Further, I called cell phones and land lines and I have to say that my MJ (and my friends) call quality is WAY UP !! This is a very good thing.
Are there opinions on why this would help on non MJ to MJ calls, and whether it should be a standard recommendation for best call quality?
