Did MagicJack Ports change?
As of Oct 17 or 18, I can no longer dial calls through my firewall. I have had a MagicJack for several years now, and have not had trouble. I have a Linksys BEFSX41, and have never had to put any forwarding in, or make any changes for the MagicJack. This is good, as there isn't a whole lot you can do! The MagicJack still receives calls just fine. When I try to make a call, I get a dial tone, dial the numbers, and it tries for 12-15 seconds, then goes back to a dial tone. If I disable the firewall on the Linksys, it completes the calls just fine. The most annoying part of this, is that I have not touched the firewall, and the MagicJack has been on the same version of the software for awhile now. Is MagicJack doing something different with the ports it uses? Using the Linksys log (VERY rudimentary), I can see the computer sending data on port 5070, but nothing comes back. I have not run a sniffer yet, as there isn't much I can do to configure the Linksys. May start shopping ebay for a used Cisco appliance! Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!

Have you checked to see if Linksys has updated firware for your router?Wildphins wrote:As of Oct 17 or 18, I can no longer dial calls through my firewall. Also the the built in firewall on the Linksys has several levels of strength. Maybe it got set higher than it used to be? Try lowering it one notch and see. I know I had to set mine to low on a combo modem/router when I first got my MJ in 08.. It would not work correctly on the default setting of high.
Just a guess
