Can you use in Hotel?

Post by percobarb »

From what I've read, if you plug into the phone jack in a hotel room it won't work because that line is active? Is that the case? My only reason for getting this would be to not have to got to an internet cafe while in asia

I use my laptop to get the Internet connection started then start making MJ phone calls from a small phone that I keep in my computer bag.

Most Hotels have great Internet service and the MJ works good.

Will be going on the road for Thanksgiving, will test the MJ+ and Apple MJ app and report back on this forum.

My experience has been with hotels in the states and family member in Europe.

If the hotel has an 'in room' telephone...you can use their handset.
I connect my netbook, usually, wirelessly to the hotel system, plug in the MJ, then disconnect the hotel phone and plug it into the MJ.

Alternative is if your Netbook or Laptop has a built in mike and speaker, in your MJ Menu options, you can switch to headset and do away with the tel handset altogether. (much like using SKYPE)
I usually have a set of headphones, whatever, for I-Pod, etc and use that and the built in mike of the netbook, works great...
