Old rotary dial payphone w MagicJack

Post by shepco »

Will it Work? I can't get a dial tone. Could it have something to do with the version 3 MagicJack having reverse polarity?

If you can plug it into your landline wiring and it works that way, I think it ought to work with the mJ. That said, any payphone might push telco parameters that still work on landlines but not on mJ.

Of course, you would have to make calls by clicking the softphone on your screen. I don't know of any VoIP adapter that accepts rotary dial pulses.
