Can you port current AT&T home phone number ???

Not yet tried magic jack ... considering new magic jack plus. Would I be able to port my existing home phone number (AT&T subscriber). Thank you for your input/help/answers/advise!!! :?: :idea:

It worked just fine for me. :)

Test the MagicJack PLUS for a week or two and make sure it works good before porting you land line number to the device.

Edit more: I'm on cable Internet not DSL.

ATT cancelled my DSL when I ported my land line. Major headache to get new naked DSL.

ATT said I should have contacted them before the number was ported.

That's correct. Once you port your number the service gets shut down.
Here what you should have done : call them complain about their prices/service, threaten to leave and once they pass you to their retention department make a discount deal on a naked DSL for 6-12 months( always e-mail confirmation).
Now you cannot do that any more but you might be eligible for some new customer specials, especially if you go with their U- Verse DSL which works slightly better than their regular one anyway.

You would think MJ would mention that as a potential problem instead of "don't call your phone company until we complete the port".
The average Joe consumer (like me) would just blissfully wait for the completion email.

No U-verse here. Did get the $24.95 6M DSL deal.
