Number of devices that can be attached to a MJ plus

I have looked all over to try to answer the question of just how many telephone devices the magicjack or the plus version can drive. I have a house full of extention phones all wired together. The telephone company easily drives all of them, but will the magicjack do the same without going up in a cloud of smoke? I won't even think of asking the idiots at tech support for an answer.

Why not just get a cordless system with 5 extension phones? Just hook up its base to the MJ and then it will ring your extensions. I have a base unit attached to mine and 3 external handsets. Works like a charm.
I am now using an Obi ( have my MJ # forwared to it) but prior to the Obi my MJ worked just fine with the cordless base and 3 handsets..

Also, based on prior conversations in here, I don't think there is a set number of phones that will ring. I think it depends on how old the phones are and their Ringer Equivalency Number (ren). I currently have my MJ plugged into a phone outlet (instructions for doing it safely are in here somewhere), and have 3 phones ring with no issues.

Hi, i had 4 phone working good with my old mj but remember to keep there "ren" low or they wont all ring the cordless phone system is truly the best idea if your not good with wiring up the house if u are then remember to disconnect the tel line cumming in from your old phone company or you could damage the MJ or MJP

Don't know specifically about the MJ+, but I use a 5 handset Panasonic wireless phone model KX-TGA641 with my MJ running on a thin client. Works great. The other posters are correct about checking the REN. IMO, do yourself a favor, prevent possible problems, and just get a wireless set.

Get a system with a sufficient number of handsets and charging bases and then you can put phones anywhere you have an electrical outlet and they will all work together with your MJ.
