It just don't work....
I am new to these forums and I am here after much frusteration. I had the magicjack for 2 months now and its been almost a month now that Its not working. Message "Please connect to internet...." is always showing and My internet connection is fine. I did chatted with their Tech support but they were able to help so they sent me a new one. I plugged in the new jack and the same message still shows.
I have tried disabling my firewall and I also clicked "allow" button when magic jack was installing, but I cannot get it to work. Is there something else I can do?
Will configuring a different softphone help?
Input will be highly appreciated.

It sounds like your registration packets are getting dropped somewhere along the line. You can verify by doing a network capture , and filtering on "sip". You will probably see that packets are going out to the magicjack servers, but are not coming back in. Check what you have running for a firewall (either on your local machine, or your router), and look at it's settings...punjabiput wrote:Thank you guys for your input. I did tried configuring Xlite softphone (per Gregg's directions) and I get " Registration error: 408- Reqest Timeout" Message on my soft phone.
I use CA internet security suite and I am not sure whether Its firewall has Zone alarm in it.
How can I check??
Thanks again

This happened to me when I tried to change my number. I used the tech chat link on my.magicjack.com and they were able to fix it within one day.play_laugh wrote:I bought magicjack a month ago and suddenly today, it stopped working and I get the message "please connect to the internet"
Could someone please let me know what the issue is?
Also, when someone tries to call me now, it says "call failed" and does not go to voicemail recording.
Thanks in advance
