Magic Jack Plus - WARNING to existing Magic Jack Users

Post by bentkowski »

Be advised that if you buy the new Magic Jack Plus - the service is separate from your existing Magic Jack service. You cannot merge the accounts. Which means you will end up with your existing Magic Jack service contract and a new Magic Jack service contract FOR THE SAME PHONE NUMBER.

I still have 3 years on my existing service and would have to keep it till it expired and pay for 2 more years of service for the Magic Jack Plus.

Now I know what "PLUS" means!!!!!

I cancelled my order and told them I guess I will wait until Magic Jack Plus 2 comes out.

A bit late to the party as this has been discussed here MANY times......

But "be advised" you will have the 2 contracts FOR THE SAME PHONE NUMBER, only if YOU choose to do it that way. They will allow you to set up the new Plus with a different number if you want.

Original MagicJack & MagicJack Plus

Post by KathyInWV »

My original MJ account auto renewed last week then I get an email 2 days ago offering the Plus for half price (including first year's service). Since I do not leave my computer on all the time I decided to get the plus. I'll just register it as a second phone number. Don't see why I can't do that. If not then I'll just bite the bullet & kiss my $20 good bye. Going in setting now and canceling auto renew on the old one though or this time next year I'll be billed for 2 plans most likely!

Customer Service & Tech support

Post by ghetto22 »

I have been trying since sept to get my old magic jack re-activated. Had 5 chats and the same number of LTK numbers. Everytime I call they put me thru the same 30 minute ritual and then tell me that my problem has been referred to Tech support (the last two times asa priority) and tech will solve the problem and get in touch with me by email.
Now it is Dec. My original 5 yr plans goes til May 2013 and I was advised they give NO refunds - not even prorated.
