Phone not working with magic jack

my magic jack is connected and registered and i got my number and everything and it shows up.. but my phone has not dial tone or anything...it is just silence with a little bit of static

i can make a call from the keyboard on screen and hear perfect but i have no mic on my computer so i need the phone to work

Have you selected telephone not headset from the settings menu on the softphone.
