Cannot call WI, northern MN with MJ+
I'm nearing the end of my free trial period with MJ+ and so far I've been happy with its performance with local calls. However, we cannot call WI (715) and I just discovered that I get a busy signal when trying to call a 218 area code in MN. When I call WI, I get a message saying the local carrier hasn't signed an agreement with MJ yet.
I was careful to do my homework before buying this thing, but nowhere did I read that there are places in the US you cannot call.
Anyway, unless anyone knows a workaround, I'll be sending this thing back. We have many relatives in WI and cannot do without.

I guess you werent so careful with your homework then, or the dog ate it.
MJ blocks some rurual areas as they charge a high temination fee. Yes this has been discussed here MANY times.
What many do to get around it is to get a free Google Voice number and then have it ring your MJ.

That sucks that you have a lot of friends n relatives that happen to live in a area code magicjack doesn't work with. I hope you find someway around that problem either with Google Voice or trying another VOIP. I know they have this area code in Alaska that they don't accept calls from magicjack but with Google Voice they do.......... Good Luck.....

or get a cell phone provider that gives you unlimited minutes. For example I call with magicjack to an area code that is block off I used my mobile carrier to call. I have Simple Mobile and pay $40 flat fee and Can even call Canada while I am out and about using Google Voice. But that's another story.......
