Need my SIP address

Post by Darkbob »

Hi people. I DO NOT want to hack Magic Jack. I LOVE my Magic Jack.

Problem is that Magic Jack doesn't have service in area code 306 and I need a local dial-in number in that area code. The guys at NetTalk do have 306 numbers (or so they say). So I thought I'd get a NetTalk and just forward my calls to my Magic Jack.

Problem is, NetTalk call forwarding totally sucks - calls take up to 30 seconds to call forward. BUT Nettalk does have one thing that the Magic Jack doesn't have - you can forward your messages to a SIP account and SIP forwarding works instantly.

And I know my Magic Jack uses SIP so all I need is my SIP address and I can forward my Duo calls to my Magic Jack and toss the stupid Duo in the drawer.

Once again: I'm not looking for my SIP password or the MJ SIP Servers or any type of hacking info - JUST need my SIP address (similar to an email address but for VoIP phones).

Any ideas? Many thanks.

Edit: I hear it's really simple. Something like EXXXXXXXXXX01 (where X is replaced by your phone number). Or something like that.

Magicjack numbers are only accessible from the PSTN. Suggest you look if Google Voice has a number in your area.

I was going to suggest that to him as well BUT I believe 306 area code is in Saskatchewan and I dont think GV supports Canada... Though I am not 100% sure....

He can always try to get one via GV and see....

Last I heard, Google Voice was available only in the US. You can call Canada but you can't sign up in Canada (at least not legit) and they don't have Canadian phone numbers.
