Considering the hours I spent with tech support at all three vendors, no one should have to go through this again
The major issue was outbound VOIP quality: it would degrade from strong at first, to weak after 30 seconds, to unintelligible after one to one-and-a-half minutes.
Called 703-376-3246 for Echo Test, DTMF Test, and Record and Playback.
Signal strength was 3/5 bars. U/L speeds 220-350kbps, D/L speeds 3.10-5.20 Mbps.
*** The major cause seems to have been USB port weirdness. ***
The two secrets are to assign the Clear Stick Atlas to a drive letter *higher* than the MagicJack Plus drive letter, which appears as "CD Drive," *and* to *not* use the "ESATA/USB" port for MagicJack.
1. Using the Win7 "Computer Management" function from Control Panel, have drive letters in this order:
-Physical Drives (C, D, E...)
-CD/DVD Drive(s) (F)
-MagicJack Plus (appears as "CD Drive") (G)
-Clear Stick Atlas (appears as "CD Drive - Clearstick.U10") (H)
-Any other USB devices (hubs, external drives, etc.)
2. And physically, the devices should be connected in this orientation:
MagicJack Plus on the left port (USB 3.0)
Any other USB devices on the rear port (USB 3.0)
Clear Stick Atlas on the right port (ESATA/USB 3.0)
