I'm new here and I'm having problems with my MJ+. When I plug it in directly to my computer's usb it works perfectly. I can call and be called. However, when I plug it directly to the wall (without the computer) there are times I will get a dial tone but after exactly 5 seconds a pre-recorded "Please Wait" message will cut in. After awhile it will be changed to "Error 45".
I did a search on this forum and on the net but I can't find what error 45 means and what the blue/white blinking plus sign means.
I saw on a previous post, that the blue/white blinking plus sign was due to a faulty power adapter that came with the unit. I switched it out to a generic travel usb cell phone adapter and it still the same.
Another post said that the unit was defective, but i do not see how the unit can be defective if it works when connected directly to a computer.
Another post said to enable port forwarding. I tried that and it didn't work. The same post said to try enabling the DMZ. I did that and it still not working.
Yet another post said that if it gets too hot it will malfunction, so I placed an electric fan on it and it cooled down significantly, but I still got the "Please Wait" followed by the "Error 45".
I'm trying to contact the chat support for the Magic Jack, but I've been waiting for 2 hours and the popup window is blank. Can someone please help me? This "upgrade" cost me so much money. If it only works on while connected to the computer, then I should have just stuck to the original magic jack. I never had a problem with that
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance
