Then apparently the MJ software on the pc is corrupted in some way and/or one or more files have somehow been deleted.
I suggest:
1. Deleting any and all MJ-related software that's currently on that pc (you might want to do a search of this site for tips on how to do that as thoroughly as possible; I did it on one of my Windows pc's by first using the OS's program deleting tool, then followed up by thoroughly searching the drive for "MJ", "magic" and "tiger"-related files (if you do it this way just be careful to not delete any files that turn up that are NOT magicjack related; I included "tiger" because there are one or more TigerJet files associated with MJ too). Then...
2. Make sure your anti-virus/malware software is up-to-date, then do a thorough scan of the drive & get rid of anything the least bit suspicious that turns up. Then
3. Temporarily turn off the anti-virus software AND any pc or OS-based firewall software that may be running on the pc.
4. Plug the MJ into one of the pc's USB ports and let it do its thing & reinstall the software etc. (you'll need to enter your MJ # again & whatnot, when it tells you you can place a call and it successfully completes the download of your contacts you'll know it's finished).
5. Now try placing a call - if the audio is still crappy then there's something on your pc interfering with its proper operation.
6. Turn your anti-virus program back on, then try placing another call to check audio quality again. If the quality was good in #5 and it's now bad, then it's being caused by the anti-virus program.
7. Turn the firewall back on & check for audio quality again. Use only ONE firewall on any given pc, including Windows' firewall.
Before you do any of the above, make sure that NO other programs are running.

I uninstalled every part of magicjack with Revo Uninstaller Pro and searched for any leftovers. MJ would not reinstall after this, even with antivirus off, kept saying that magicjack.exe was not closing down correctly for install and click to retry, did that & didn't work. I realized that it seemed after I installed Spybot Search & Destroy and ran it, that's when I started having problems. Went back to restore point from installing it and that fixed it. Don't know if that particular program was the problem, because other programs and updates were there too, but going back fixed it. Thanks for the help, Scott
