Unending ring

Okay. I have just purchased the Magic jack, and to test it after I installed it I tried to call my cell phone. The quality of my voice in the cell phone is fine, but the Magic jack phone keeps sounding an endless ring in the earpiece like no one has picked up, and there is no pause between the rings. It’s not ring, pause, ring, but a consent stream that drowns everything else out. I cannot tell if my voice is going from my cell phone to the jack due to the intensity of the noise. This also happens when I use my cell phone to call my magic jack, but the ringing is still in the magic jack phone. I have tried to browse the forum for some answer but have so far come up with nothing. If anyone has any idea I would appreciate any help in this.

You cell phone, when held close to the MJ phone, coud be interfering. On the MJ phone, make a test call to 866-692-6447. It should announce your MJ number. If you can hear that ok, try calling some friends for further testing. If you get the same ringing sound, try using a computer headset or microphone instead of the phone.
