switching from headset to telephone settings

Post by chuone1 »

Has anyone had the problem of not being able to switch back and forth between headset and telephone settings? Mine is "stuck" in headset mode and will not let me set it in telephone mode.

Turn off computer, reboot, plug MJ back in with phone plugged in. Mine sticks from time to time. It's a flaw in the software.

strndedinalska,

With Vista I had the same problem and I found it also helped to have the phone off hook when rebooting. Mine did it often enough that it really got the better of me and it did not do it on my XP laptop so that is when I switched to a Thin Client - Problem Fixed. :)

unplugging, rebooting,"fix",does not work....but if I temporarily diable my Realtek sound card..then the options will change. After enabling Realtek MagicJack is stuck on handset only mode again! It has something to do with my Realtek, have tried all settings and nothing seems to work. Has anybody else had this problem?

You may wish to do a search for a more definitive answer, but I solved the problem by going to the Device Manager and deleting a malfunctioning USB Device Controller. Not sure I'm putting that in exact terms but if you go to the Device Manager, you should be able to see it and it's labeled Tigerjet. Once I removed it and restarted my MJ, everything was fine.

PS: I got this from another user in the forum which is why I suggested doing a search. It may be explained better by the original poster.

Darkman90808,

That sound as good as any solution I have heard so far. As a matter of fact I am going to pass this on t another person with the problem right now.

Thanks.
