magicjack on PAP2 v2

Post by onlinepcfun »

Hi,

I was able to unlock PAP2 v2 I have and now I am trying to set it up with magicjack. I was able to use PAP2 with sipphone credentials so I guess the PAP2 is good. When I try to configure it with Magicjack credentials...the line never registers...it says "*NUMBER01 ENUMBER01 Proceeding"...when I looked in to logs thru the Provision.html, I see *NUMBER01@magicproxyinfo in the SIP register requests and see a BAD request return (400) from Magicjack server. I think may be it got to do with that *NUMBER01 instead of ENUMBER01 in the SIP requests. Anybody thinks that is the issue (or) anybody got PAP2v2 to work with Magicjack? Anyway to send ENUMBER01 in the SIP requests?

Thanks

Can you share trhe setup that you used for sipphone (Gizmo) I am experimenting with my unlocked WRTP54G and line 2 looks like it may be just perfect for my Gizmo service.
Still trying to get the "Jack" credentials but it is getting a bit dicy lately.

radioman52,

I was able to configure my RT31P2 (similar to WRTP54G in unlocking & config) with MJ, but I can't get it to ring on inbound calls. I've posted my configuration here: http://www.phoneservicesupport.com/post12639.html#12639 (images attached to my post)
If you get yours to work on inbound, let me know how you did it.

Thanks,
-Some

Here is what i set, leave rest default

SIP User Agent Name:MagicJack/1.80.466c (SJ Labs)

LINE 1 Tab
NAT Keep Alive Enable:Yes
SIP Port:5060
Proxy:Your Proxy details
Register Expires:180
Display Name:Whatever you want
User ID:Exxxxxxxxxx01
Password:Your SIP Password (Use "MAGIC" Tool from magicjackhacks.com to retrive SIP Pass )
Use Auth ID:NO
Dial Plan:
(*xx|911|<411:18004664411>|[235678]11!|<:1555>[2-9]xxxxxx|1xxx[2-9]xxxxxxS0|<:1>[2-9]xx[2-9]xxxxxxS0)

Please replace 555 with your area code. Hope this helps.

In addition.. outbound proxy and proxy should be set to 71.5.113.6:5070 . That site magicjackhacks is sorta annoying because its locking up my core 2 computer with 4gb of ram (not the program, but the site) and everything works fine when i close the site. But, that tool still works....

Proxy can be anything, 71.5.113.6 might be your area proxy. I use a different proxy

Proxy cannot be "anything". It can only be one of the MJ proxies. The list of proxies was posted here: http://www.phoneservicesupport.com/post27288.html#27288

if you select "use outbound proxy" then proxy can be anything--as it wouldn't be used, only outbound proxy matters in ths case.

also, use domain name instead of ip, mj changed losangels proxy ip address recently.

I learnt the proxy ip change the harder way....things stopped working for me and i did a reset of my pap...then realised that ip had changed.

I also have a PAP2v2 that I have laying around unable to get it to fire up. I dont have any of the firmware changed as another site was pushing for, then same site dropped the thread waiting for further input. I believed it caused a pile of bricks to collect. Anyway, I can unlock the ATA but cannot successfully get it to work with the sip info. Anyone get it fired up and working?? :? If so, What exactly are the entries?? zmaddmattz.. Did you get it working??

Nope, lo luck. it seems that the pap2 v2 wont accept Alpha characters in the ID string. hence it turns E455455555501 into X455455555501.

Great news-- this Sipura Voice patch fixes the SIP registration limitation of the account name being numeric (0-9 and a,b,c,d,e).

thanks for the info pagemen. but this patch leaves the unit's sip module stuck at 192.168.15.1, wich is a major problem for my network.

If i find my jtag cables then I might try it. I dunno tho the patch seem kinda risky.

I have been running on a PAP2-NA, firmware 3.1.22(LS) for almost a year. Back when I was first setting it up, info was scarce. But now, it should be dead simple. Here is a little example of the info you would need.

Sip Port = 5060
Proxy = proxy1.Columbus.talk4free.com:5070
Outbound Proxy = proxy1.Columbus.talk4free.com:5070
Use Outbound = yes
Register = yes
User ID = EXXXXXXXXXXXX
Password = XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Use Auth ID = No
