Hi all,
I am planning to send Majic Jack to India. Usually all the internet providers have some limit on bandwidth, download/upload limits.
I am curious howmuch Majic Jack is going to use bandwidth/upload/download
1) if we are on phone for 1 hour contineously.
2) if MJ is connected and Internet is turned on without making/receiving phone call.
I dont have clue how to calculate these. If some one can explain, i can try.
Thanks
Varma

MagjcJack VOIP call uses 80 Kbps (kilo bits/sec) each way, so for a 2-way conversation = 80 x 2 = 160 Kb/sec
or 576,000 Kilo bits/hr ( 160 Kb/sec x 3600 )
or 562.5 Mega bits/hr ( 576,000 Kb/hr / 1024 )
or 70.3 Mega Bytes/hr ( 562.5 Mb/hr / 8 )
But these figures are strictly VOIP calls, assuming 3% overhead for other TCP/IP data, you're looking at ~ 72.5 Mega Bytes/hr.
