Power issues
Phone/headset gives a clear dial tone but when the call is made the connection is filled with static and too poor to carry on a conversation. After trying every USB slot and shutting down most of the processes running on my system (just in case one was causing a conflict), I decided to do a clean install of XP in the hopes that would help. MJ tech support says it's a power issue and I need a powered hub. If it's a power issue, is there any way I can use the MJ software without having the USB device installed? I have a headset and don't mind using it (since I've been doing that with Skype) until I receive my USB hub.

I did everything same like you but same shit, poor call quality, noise, call delay.
Since Mj got rid of beta, i cannot get any better international quality even when you dial some mini exchange office call is like kind of vibrating.
I think Mj family got rid off LEVEL 3 COMMUNICATION services now they are using some other company to deploy this MJ setup.
I am technical guy but I always try to write simple language so everyone who is not technical can understand very well.
I am getting disappointed from MJ call poor quality.
And a lot of customers are rising this question.
Mj has to understand if customer cannot get better call quality then keeping this small boxe is useless.
I saw even Mj advertisements on different cahnnals but selling, markeeting works when the stuff you are selling or markeeting is techanically sound.
A KIND OF DISAPPOINTED MJ USER.

Thats why everyone is getting bad circuits. I thinks now Mj is going to fail because of bad circuits or poor call quality.

Another bite the bullet do a clean install person! I admire your stoicism. I was a total brat about it.
I do not know all the esoteric stuff people post here.....but seems to me that anyone having issues should post their system specs, inluding any power-gobbling high end video cards and the PSU details.... and broadband specs.
Seems to me that most commercial systems sold have inadequate PSUs....and people do not get this and then install $400 video cards to game. Both my desktops are Optiplexes....workstations made by Dell to last. ( I would not buy any other Dell product.) I am not a gamer, but in both systems, I immediately upgraded the PSUs. Why, in a relatively new system, USB ports have inadequate juice.....should be addressed case-specific, no?
