MagicJack now in CANADA!
The MagicJack Canada website is available! >> MagicJack Canada
Also forgot to mention another wierd thing talking to Glenn.
He said they don't have a phone number to call the Canadian MagicJack guy because the 1-800 # on the website is for Canada only. Glenn asked if anyone from Canada orders one from this guy, to ask them to contact Glenn in MagicJack sales chat.
Wierd... MagicJack doesn't have the phone number for their first distributor?
Tell me again how much business experience Dan Borislow has.
Sales support asking customers for the phone # to their first distributor? LOL

Victor, we have no problem letting everyone know that you are the MJ reseller in Canada. In return would it be possible to put a link on your site to our forum?victor wrote:Hello everyone, Victor here from themagicjack.ca

it is 1.888.295.5442 call anytime if you have any questions regarding a Canadian sale.

Hi Chuck,ChuckIL wrote:$59.99 for the device with no Canadian area codes. It doesn't seem that this guy is an authorized retailer. You wouldn't be Chad Fullerton, the site designer by any chance, would you?
I am the site designer, nice to meet you.
A few things to help you out:
a) The price you quoted was a price that included shipping, it has since gone down to $39.99 + shipping (same as USA). MagicJack in the USA will not ship to Canada, you need to purchase from an authorized Canadian dealer. Also, if you buy from a USA reseller you won't get support/service from themagicjack.ca
b) I've been told when Canadian area codes become available, you get to switch your number to the Canadian area code free of charge and very easily
c) themagicjack.ca is an authorized dealer, and official reseller in Canada. Call up MagicJack.com and ask if you're skeptical.
Happy new year.

Canadian purchase
Following this thread, do Canadians have to buy from www.themagicjack.ca? I see on the magicjack.com USA site accommodates Canadian customers. When filling out the order form the drop down list of States includes Canadian provinces. Also for country, the the choices are "USA" and "CA". The base price is the same, $39.99 but shipping from the US site is 6.99 while the Canadian distributor charges $15. Seeing as the exchange rate is pretty close to 1:1, I'm inclined to buy from the USA site and save $8.
Assuming the US site has provisions for Canadian customers, I'm assuming I can register the device?
Any thoughts or what am I'm missing? Customs charges maybe?
thanks,
-Tony

To register, it does not matter where you buy it from.
Customs will be a concern if you buy it from the US site and it might end up costing you more that what you would pay at the Canadian site. You could always get together with a friend and buy two from the canadian site, as I beleive the shipping for two is still $15.00.
I would assume that you are aware there are no Canadian area codes and the US area codes are also limited.

Actually, I ordered the MagicJack from the US site and it was sent to me via Canada Post from Ontario. So it would seem that Canadians are going to get them from there no matter which site your order from so customs is not something you have to worry about. I was also only charged the $US 6.99 for shipping so it was cheaper ordering from the US site.gary wrote: Customs will be a concern if you buy it from the US site and it might end up costing you more that what you would pay at the Canadian site.
That rang a bell (no pun intended!). I believe it is themagicjack.ca guy (Victor) who ships it for magicjack in Canada. Here is his post from another site:

Hi,
Thanks for all the responses.
Yep, I realize there are no Canadian area codes (yet). A friend in BC has his Magicjack number in Seattle which is the closest area code to southern BC.
I'm still debating the cost benefit and practicality of MagicJack. I'm currently using a calling card at 2.9 cents CDN plus GST with no monthly fees for land line and cell phone long distance calls. And I'm using Google Talk for PC to PC calls which is free and has decent call quality. So MagicJack has to beat the calling card for cost in the long run and practicality (having the computer running to use it). For now, MagicJack has the latest-gadget appeal.

Ah, what the heck, have ordered one from www.magicjack.com. The chat-help was really helpful with the couple of questions I had and a correction to the delivery address. No complaints with the help--it's live and it's responsive.
Looking forward to testing out the device

I guess "free of charge" might be subject to some interpretation:sirchadlington wrote: b) I've been told when Canadian area codes become available, you get to switch your number to the Canadian area code free of charge and very easily
themagicjack.ca wrote:Notice: Canadian numbers are not currently available and will be available soon. New customers will be given U.S. numbers. Once the Canadian numbers become available, you will be contacted and given the option to change your number. Activation of Canadian numbers will be free, but there will be a yearly charge for the Canadian local exchange.
For the fun of it....Keith
