I keep having the SAME 3 problems..
1> I pick it up to use it and have loud static
2> I dial a number CORRECTLY and get a recording telling me that I need to dial the area code. Obviously, since I am dialing correctly, I keep doing it and eventually it will work on maybe the 12th time.
3> Warning on screen telling me that I need to plug into a USB port. I am!!!!

will not bite me....? was not really asking for that but thank you. have applied some fixes but still have the more than not static and other issues. I am fairly intelligent and did a search for "static". you may also try and see what help you come up with. not much. was looking for someone to reply with an actual answer and not a smarty remark but thank you.

Re: Cnstant 3 problems!!!!
Assuming that you mean that literally -- even the dial tone is impaired, then it's not surprising that you can't dial reliably. If you are using a cordless phone, test with a corded one. If you are connected to a wall jack, test with just one corded phone, connected directly to MJ, using a cord no longer than ten feet.debrag1 wrote:I pick it up to use it and have loud static.
If the above does not help or is not applicable, try plugging MJ directly into a USB port (without any extension cable). If it's a desktop PC, try using a port on the rear of the machine.
If no luck, most likely the PC can't supply enough current on its USB ports, or the MJ is defective. If available, try a powered USB hub. Or, try the MJ in another computer. If the dial tone still has static, ask for a replacement MJ.
