I believe they have presented the facts correctly regarding terms of service, agreement to monitoring, and arbitration. Whether it's a "swollen pustule of crappy terms of service and spyware" is up to you to decide.

What I love the most about the article is the comments. Most of the people that don't like MJ, say that it spy's on you and that you have no privacy. Have any of these people picked up a news paper lately or do they just not read. Just about all of the major telephone and internet providers now spy on their customers. There is no such thing as privacy in the U.S.A.

How come they ain't pissed that AT&T taps their phone at a $40 a month charge?

I agree that the website where it says they only have 20K units left, but that number is the same no matter what day you login...can be a bit misleading, but that's just sales tactics for ya. TV commercials do the same thing saying that if you call within the next hr....yada, yada, yada.

MJ works well, and its just that some are having issues trying to make it work....in most cases, it's something messed up with their own configs or hardware.

As far as getting a virus, etc.......just by connecting your computer to the 'super highway' your prone to viruses and spam. You just have to have good protection software running on your system for such attacks.

I figure there will be many blogs, sites that will be saying MagicJack is a ripoff, scam, etc.....prob from those who couldn't make theirs work in the first place.

I have 3 magicjacks. What I have saved in LD and local service has paid for them twice. I dare those guys to try to take one from me, there would have a fight on their hands

Well if they spy on me then I really don't care.
If that's what floats their boat, then whatever.
But I can't see how it would be very exciting.

On this site everythink is 100% truth.

But MJ is working good for me. It is only 96.85$ for 5 years or 1.614$ per month !!! And has more future that any phone service I ever had. Nothing is perfect in this world.
They spy but all of the major telephone and internet providers now spy. I do not care about spying.
Bad service? In this Forum you can find almost any posible solution for your problem. The chat costumer service is not working in reality.
If they have phone costumer service I do not believe that the phone service will be better that the chat costumer service. This Forum is great and the best posible costumer service.

And I am happy with my MJ.

Spying

Post by jaihawk »

I can understand your support for the product, but i'm blown away by how many people think a cheap cost is worth your privacy. All the 'meh's and 'Who care's'. Privacy issues only continue to grow because not enough are bothered by what they know is going on now. Phone companies should not be allowed to listen in. This cooperate grip on us is getting old.

I automatically assume all calls are being monitored by the NSA. What MJ or, for that matter, Google do with you data is now just a fact of life. Privacy, as we once knew, went out the window once we entered the digital age. Of course, you could say the same thing with the advent of any new technology, including DNA or even fingerprints.
