loud noise burst

After two months, finally got my MagicJack working fine. That last update seems to have corrected all the problems. Callers hear me fine, I hear them fine. Had someone today say they thought I was on a landline. Only problem, while on a call after 5 or so minutes I got this loud noise burst (sounded like a klaxon horn if anyone else knows what that is) and again after nine or so minutes. It was so loud I almost dropped the phone. Only I heard it, called party did not hear at all. This has now happened twice, both times my calling the same number. Has anyone else got this and anyone have a clue as to how to prevent?

I have noticed the same thing. I was on the line with a AT&T wireless customer.

Check your volume settings in MJ. Make sure you don't have them cranked up. I have mine set about halfway between the middle and low setting and haven't had any squeal or popping sound while on a call.

i get the same thing every 5 or 6th time i call a verizon cell phone customer (for about 3 months now)
