Modem Signal when calling 858-368-XXXX

Post by DonMan »

I get a modem or fax signal whenever I call any number in 858-368-XXXX with my magicJack. From my standard line, I have no issue. I can also call other numbers without issue.

I opened a chat session and after asking me assinign questions like please try dialing a one. Please try it now, please try it again. Do you have a printer hooked up to your phone? Can you call other phones etc?
They said they would esculate to engineering and send me email on the status, which hasn't happened.

Can anyone else give any 858-368 number a call with the MJ and let me know if you have the same issue? I just want to confirm that it is not a specific MJ routing issue in my area code.

Reading other posts, I think I found a work around to the issue. I don't understand why, but if I dial *678*58-368-XXXX, it works. The *67X* where X is the first digit of the area code, seems to overcome the routing issue. I think ultimately mJ needs to fix there routing database, but until they do, this may help.
