Area Code 718: Phone quality has been terrible last 3 days. Signal is breaking up and when I'm able to talk there is a loud echo that is distracting.
Will the auto launch ever work all the time? Yesterday it worked, today it didn't. Come on MagicJack, I've had you since July and you are going in the wrong direction. I thought service would be fine after I got my area code but it has gotten bad. So bad, it's almost unusable.
You are giving VOIP a bad name. I know of five people that have dumped MagicJack for Phone Power VOIP. When will you get this device working the way it should?

Thanks
PS: I did do some searching and found this review, but wanted to hear "from the horses" mouth for comparison sake
I got Phone Power about a month ago after dumping Teleblend (post SunRocket) and researching all the other VOIP providers. Those reviews you mentioned sealed the deal for me. I'm very happy with it so far. With a few changed settings on my fax machine, I can now send great faxes over VOIP which I could never do, and still can't over MJ. I also hooked up my computer's fax modem and it works great over VOIP using Mighty Fax. Receiving faxes is still a no-go however so I'm probably going to use K7.net for a free number that will forward incoming faxes to my email. Joiphone was cheaper but no name on CallerID and poor reviews steered me clear from them.
I got in at the end of a promo with Phone Power. I get 6 months for $9.95/month,, then will switch to their $199/yr plan. I've had to call their tech support a couple of times and they're always helpful, efficient and quick to respond. They're also USA and not overseas people. Being able to intelligently converse with a tech on the phone is much better than MJ's text chat (which I consider minimal). Phone Power also has a referral benefit like Vonage's where you can get free months of service by referring new customers. Hope this helps.

And speaking of Referral Programs ... if only MJ had implemented this like 8 months ago ... damn I would have had free service for LIFE; and they made even more $ off of me. Hope all those Referrals don't come back and kill me

I must admit Phone Power sounds good. I use free services for sending and receiving faxes. I hate faxes, and only use the technology when absolutely necessary (as in when another party will only deal with a fax).
I can't understand why we can't get away from that legacy technology from the 60s. I no longer own a fax machine. Kind of like trying to use a typewriter to fill out carbon copy forms and snail mail.
I certainly would not pay for a fax service. IMAO.

Why don't you use FaxZero? It's free. All you do is scan your docs, then upload them and enter the number you want to send it to. I gave up on trying to use a fax machine when I had sunrocket and hate using fax. So I use this whenever I need to fax which is not that much.
