I just got my linksys PAP-2 (unlocked fonage version 1) working, and its doing great except for one little thing.
How can I get the message waiting indicator to work?
I mean, I had some Voicemail, and I was surprised to see that the ATA triggered the message waiting light on my phone. When I logged into the ATA web admin, I noticed there is a message waiting status in the system info tab.
Well, I deleted the voicemail, but the message waiting light didnt reset..lol. I tried rebooting the ATA, but no luck.
Its a little weird cause sometimes it will clear and sometimes it wont. Any suggestions?

I also have a PAP-2 and have the same problem. The message waiting bit remains set even after calling in and deleting the messages. If I turn off the PAP-2 and use the MagicJack USB dongle to call into voice mail the message waiting bit is then cleared. This indicates that the USB dongle/software is sending some kind of communication to the server to clear the bit.
Someone more in the know than us can peraps figure out what is going on with this. In the meatime you can turn off the MWI and VMWI service in your PAP-2 for the line. It won't clear the message waiting but it will stop the stuttered dial tone.
