Can't get Magic Jack softwrae to run as a Service on Vista

I can't get Magic Jack software to run as a Service on Windows Vista

I followed the basic steps of
Creating the account, installing the service, modifying the registry values, and setting the service to run as Magic Jack (admin). When i start the service i get an error, I believe it was 7000.

Does this hack work with windows Vista Ultimate?

Any idea's?

I also couldn't get it to work properly with Vista. I followed all the instructions (however, you have slightly different file locations with Vista) and while I got the service running, AND I got a dial-tone, MagicJack wouldn't fully connect.

I couldn't make a call, and I couldn't receive calls either--just sort of heard a dial-tone and that was it.

Come on, there's gotta be a friendly registry-editing guru out there that works with Vista!

I did get it to work last night on Vista Ultimate.

My mistake was that i did not follow the instructions properly

srvany.exe is is the same dir as instsrv.exe.

srvany is the actual executable that is ran as a service, you simply specify a value in the registry that points to magicjackloader.exe not magicjack.exe and srvany does the job of loading magicjackloader.exe.

Oh yeah make sure to uninstall the service "INSTSRV magicjack REMOVE"
and the MagicJack registry keys before you start again.

great, let me know how it goes.

My Best advise is to follow the instructions literally and use absolute paths.

The first time i did this and screwed it up i was sure that it was a problem with Vista. I can assure you that it worked perfect the 2nd time around.

It works great because now i don't have to worry about who is logged into the computer. It simply needs to be on and the magic jack works.

Also after you get it working don't forget to remove the registry entries for the cd-loader.
