Incoming calls fail with fax machine plugged in

I have a printer/scanner/fax plugged into my house wiring, and I have the 100k resistor fix installed. Outgoing calls work fine, but with incoming calls, the caller hears no ringing, just a "click" and then the call is dead. Sometimes the magicjack gets a ring but again, the call dies. If I unplug my fax machine, incoming calls work fine.

Any ideas? We haven't had trouble with the fax machine plugged in using vonage. Did a search here but didn't see anything that is similar to what I'm experiencing.

The magicjack doesn't officially support faxing,
VOIP is notoriously bad for faxing.

However, some people have gotten it to work.
Try lowering the speed of your fax machine, if you can.
Also try a different fax machine.
