Thin Client MJ has dialtone, dials & rings, but disconne

I am trying to set up a thin client I recently purchased. It is 256/256 memory though. I flashed a new image of XPe and removed the unwanted software, as per the instructions in the TC sticky. Now, when I pick up my MJ phone, I hear a dialtone. I can dial a # and the other phone rings, however once someone picks up or it goes to voicemail, the MJ disconnects to dialtone again before I hear anyone speaking/VM message. If I dial from another phone to MJ and I pick up, I can hear the other caller on my MJ phone, but the other caller can't hear me. These problems must be connected. Has anyone faced this problem, or is it part of the same problems that everyone has been talking about? Please let me know. I am sorry if this issue has been referenced already - I did a search for this particular issue without luck. Thanks.
