Got it today... Not sure

Post by pctaylor »

I got my Magicjack today and it installed without incident. It was my understanding that it would give me a temp phone number during the evaluation peroid and then I could transfer my current phone number. Not quite. Apparently that is a "coming soon" item. The last post in the FAQ's was in January 2008. Seems like they could have worked this out in 9 months.

The Live Chat person told me that it was coming soon, but when confronted with the fact it has ben 9 months, told me it was coming soon, and to refer to the FAQ's?

Do you think I am getting the run around and that this feature will never come?

pctaylor,
Only time will tell how much better the MJ will get. If I'm not mistaken they are still working on making this thing in areas that are lacking. I just installed mine today (10/8) and have not had a bit of problems. I have a long distant # wich is not my prefered, but I'll wait it out to see if they will come through w/ a local one. If it were not for my cell I would return it, but it is doing great so far. I am hoping that their word is good, but if lies are being told just for profit I am not interested in keeping the MJ either. Paitence will be the only thing we have on our side. Since the product has not been out that long we will have to wait on the outcome. But how long that is will depend on us. Good Luck!

I thought I read somewhere on the forum that Dan Borislow said the problem was with the service providers, i.e., Verizon, AT&T, etc.

Hard to imagine Ma Bell would want to make it difficult to jump ship!
