Anyone tried an mj on a modem connection, e.g. 50k ?

I know MJ doesn't support such usage but I visit Cuba frequently and there is nothing faster than 50k internet connections available there. I have used Skype successfully from and to there and had a packet8 router hooked up in the past and was chatting away daily to the USA. Calls to Cuba run $1/minute and up so this option, however imperfect, would be a godsend.

I had my brother in Iran test MJ with a dialup modem. It works but the sound is distorted and almost inaudible!
