I got this a couple days ago and it worked for about 36 hours then when I turned my computer on today I noticed MJ didn't turn on. I spent several hours with live chat making all kinds of adjustments, switching usb ports myriads of times and installing and reinstalling the upgrade.exe about 5 times. Bottom line is I don't think the support or lvl 2 support know what they are doing...
I formatted the MJ drive and so it's blank now (upgrade.exe doesn't seem to put any files back on that). Basically I'm still having the same old problem when I plug in MJ a windows explorer box pups up with the empty MJ drive and when I click on the program I get the spalsh of the device with the red letters "Warning: plug magicjack into usb port"
If anyone could help I think I could really like MJ. If not I guess I'll have to start paying that $20 a month in government fees for a landline again..
MJ is connected but not connected...

Update 1
I was playing around some more with this problem and it suddenly dawned on my that I wasn't seeing my dvd burner drive in "my computer" so I went into control panel and discovered that there are like 4 devices with exclamation points on them including the magicjack stuff and my dvd drive. I"m still looking for the cause... Perhaps irq conflict? I'll let you know..

Update 2
After unplugging the MJ and eliminating one of the other troubled devices as another issue I now have two devices that are having problems my dvd drive which is useless atm and a device with this registry entry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\SCSI\CdRom&Ven_WQ7736K&Prod_IKX655Q&Rev_1.01 I'm wondering if this is somthing that came with the MJ could someone look up their hardware devices and see if this is listed? I uninstall both my dvd drive and this and they both reinstall themselves when I reboot my computer. I'm getting an error code 39 on the devices which means that the driver didn't laod properly or is corrupted or something..
I was able to fix my dvd drive by disabling the other cd device and following the instructions in this articlehttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060 to fix my dvd drive. Now to play with MJ more ...
After my dvd drive was fixed I went into device manager and enabled that other cd drive that I'm assuming is part of MJ. No problems there so I plugged MJ back into my sub port and it automatically started downloading and upgrading itself and the program poped up! Victory is Mine! I did lose my over 100 contacts I had typed into MJ though
Why doesn't the Tech Support Chat poeple come here and read this forum? It's almost like they could learn to do their job or something... It seems to me that MJ is a good product that just needs to be well supported. I fixed this complicated problem faster by myself than all the time I spent with them and accomplished nothing except finally finding out that after they try a couple of easy things they give up and don't chat with you anymore... That or tell you to try restarting your computer to get rid of you... Haha I had one tell me that my internet connection speed slowly degrades over time so I should try restarting
I replied that I didn't think that would work so they should think of something else and they never said anything back!
