MJ Not working properly

I sent a MJ to my family in the middle east. Now, we can talk 1 of every 8 or 9 times they try to get it work. When it works its fine but the problem is trying to get it to to work.
They tried it on both on XP and a Vista operated laptops.

De they need to do anything other than the upgrades?
