Now, onto my problem
I purchased the magicjack a while ago, and used it with my laptop (Windows Vista) flawlessly. It worked wonderfully. A couple of weeks ago, I lent the magicjack to my son who tried it on his computer. The internet connection in his dorm was spotty, and there may have been a firewall. Making a long story short, we gave up trying to use the magicjack at his dorm, and he sent it back to me. I went to plug it back into the same laptop, and expected it to work. The magicjack software popped up when I plugged in the unit. It even went as far as saying ready to call, however, when i went to call, it would give me an error (1 and/or 6). It would then somehow disable my internet connection (the icon on the toolbar had a big cross in it...instead of the globe). This would cause the internet to stop running for a couple of minutes.
After trying a few times, I thought I had it working; however, it would get only as far as ringing a phone, and would just randomly disconnect.
I am surprised since the magicjack was working so flawlessly. Could it be because my son tweaked around with the locations? Or, did something download from his computer onto the magicjack? Help me please, as I am not all that computer savvy.
Thanks!!
