Hi, I just registered and am so glad to find a forum like this! I just installed my magicjack today and ran into some problems with fluttering calls and not being heard on the other end....decided it was my router, so I plugged my internet connection directly into my desktop, bypassing the router. Worked fine after that, but I really need my router (the one I'm using is a belkin wireless) so this is not an ideal fix for me. Does anyone have good experience with a wireless router that works well with mj? I would appreciate your help.

Check your network properties on your computer and make sure you are only using the tcp/ip protocol. I have seen other protocols put in by the wireless network cards that cause problems.

I am using a Belkin DI-624 wireless router with 2 wired ethernet ports. I have my desktop on one,my thin Client on the other and two machines on the wrieless net. Works w/o difficulty.

Were you connecting wirelessly to the router? I think wireless contributes latency and/or lost packets, degrading VOIP. I'm just 20 feet from my Linksys WRT54GL, and I noticed a difference between being wired, and connecting wirelessly. I've seen others post the same observation.

However, that was before I flashed the router to Tomato and enabled QoS to give VOIP priority. I should switch back to wireless to see if the QoS priority made enough difference to compensate for whatever wireless does.

That made me remember the tweak test at dslreports.com. If (in XP) the MTU or RWIN are off, it would make a difference.
