Solution to outgoing calls reverting to dial tone

Post by Saraw »

I've been having this problem when calling certain numbers. I dial the number and it reverts to a dial tone. I found this work around for someone having the same problem calling in Toronto. I tried it for my number in Florida and it works!!

from the website above:
Basically purpose of this post of mine is to help out those Toronto users of magicjack, who are having problems calling Rogers cellphones in Toronto. Basically, if you have a number let’s say, “416-123-4567″ you dial it like, “*67+4+*+16-123-4567". This seems to have eliminated my problem.

Summary: dial *67 + first digit of area code + * + rest of number

Saraw.... this is also posted in a little more detail here on the forum:

The site has become a little unwieldy now with so many users, but almost anything you see posted by the author, Stewart, is worth reading. The *67 trick also works with 800#'s that don't always go through with the MJ.
