International calling issue
A few days ago magicjack extra charged my debit card for some international funds. They refunded the money, but now when I go add minutes I get this message: We are performing upgrades and are unable to accept requests to increase your balance. Please check again in the morning. Getting it for the last three days. The answer from support seemed scripted (We are doing some upgrades, our engineers are working to get them completed as fast as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience). Please, Can someone verify I am not the only one getting the message? Thanks.
I'm getting it, too. My wife is in China right now and I'd like to call her on my MagicJack. I've been trying for three days to add international minutes, but I get the same message.

You can open a vbuzzer.com account for free. Pay as you go costs $10 to fund the account. They say their rate to China is .01 per minute.PTravel wrote:I'm getting it, too. There might be other services. Skype is free to open an account, and $10 to fund it. Not sure what their China rate is. Voipvoip.com has a pay-as-you-go account.

Thanks, az2008. I'll look into vbuzzer and voipvoip. I've had too many quality problems with international Skype calls.az2008 wrote:You can open a vbuzzer.com account for free. I was just able to add international minutes to my MagicJack line. I added $10, which got me 500 minutes to China. I called my wife, who is in Beijing, and it went right through. The call was crystal clear with no delay or echo -- probably the best phone quality I've gotten when I call China (which is fairly often). It's only one call, but I'm very, very pleased.
