Does Magic Jack work on a PC running Linux
I am interested in purchasing a Magic Jack. Does it run under linux? If it does, does it matter which distribution?

A number of folks have posted how they are using it with VMWare on a linux system; I haven't been able to but you will find excellent instructions if you search for them. My problem has been getting VMWare installed on my machine.
I've been able to install Windows with Virtual Box but no MJ. Again, I believe you may find someone who's gotten MJ to work with Virtual Box, but not me.
Look for post by testing123 and gnimish, if my memory is correct.
Good luck!

Anyway, the post you mentioned refers to this link: http://ubuntu-tutorials.com/2008/05/30/ ... 804-hardy/
The newer version is 1.0.8. I had 1.0.7 installed and then installed a kernel update in ubuntu and VMware server stopped working. I had to update to 1.0.8 and then copy over the correct files listed as "The last step"
I hope this helps you both!
