Just for FAX line?

Just for FAX line?
We use the house phone for a FAX only. I read folks talking about the echo on the phone will that mess up a FAX? Has anyone had issues with a FAX using this device?

This is a popular question. They do not support faxes, but the answer is yes. You may need to do some tweaking.
First, turn off error correction on your fax machine or program. Then, set the fax machine or program to use the slowest speed available. The slowest speed will ensure a fax goes through. You may increase later to find the highest speed at which a fax can be received.
Be aware that faxing over VOIP isn't always the greatest. Some have had it work all the time, others report it working sometimes, and others say it doesn't work at all.
If it doesn't work at all, you might want to try experimenting with different fax machines.
And if your phone calls are of bad quality in the first place, then that's likely the reason your faxes aren't going through.

HP Fax
I have tried numerous configurations with my HP all in one fax, and can't quite get a reliable fax line... It seems to work without modification to other HP fax machines (90% success). I don't know if it helps that they are small more traditional type fax machines or not? But, even after removing error correction and lowering the speed to "slow" (doesn't give actual baud - but is the lowest setting) I can not reliably connect with large scale fax machines/emulators. I'm told they (my customers - similar configurations, multiple companies) scan signed documents at a central location then, some type of Outlook plug in works with their server to send the fax. Works fine with my POTS but not MJ.
Any suggestions?
VOIP isn't new, why can't they just set a portion of the fax handshake protocol to see if it is VOIP, and then let both switch to all digital communications on compatible VOIP boxes? It would obviously be a new protocol, but they come out periodically anyway.

I'm using the K7FAX.com for incoming fax.. I have no problem faxing out using the HP C6150 AIO.. Most of the time I can even get FAXes in on it.. I have noticed that when companies fax thru PBX that is where the problem is in receiving.. Hope that helps.. There are waysn in this forum that you can change your proxy, if you can find that, try changing to one of the old ones, like nashville.. If you can, then try to fax out and then in.. Sorry, I don't recall where those instructions are.. If someone else knows, please give a hand here..
