Just got my majic jack today.
I can't make any outgong calls on my phone. I tried 2 corded phones(do have dial tone)
If I use the keypad on the computer screen(using the telephone mode) I can dial the number on the screen and pickup the phone and it works.
I can receive calls on both phones but I just cannot make outgoing calls using the phones.
What gives

This is a common problem. The MJ USB device apparently uses a lot of power, bordering on the maximum of the USB standard. Motherboard manufacturers apparently cut corners and supply a little less than the max.
A lot of people have reported that using a powered USB hub fixes this problem (and others, like low volume, people can't hear you, etc.).
This one seems to be affordable, recommended by other MJ users, and apparently sold by an MJ user:

You want to make sure you use a hub with a hefty power supply. It's been reported that some hubs suffer from the same problem as motherboards (low power supplies that don't supply enough to the hub).
